NA-234 (IOTA NEW ONE!) Latest news from KL7DX Cleveland Volcano IOTA-expedition to Chuginadak Island (Aleutian islands, Alaska) as of 07/28/2008 12PM:
KL7DX finished the operation in the air from ChuginadakIsland (NA-234) participating in IOTA Contest. Eruption of Cleveland volcano have been covered the team with ash all the time, while they were staid on the Island. Base expedition camp shut down on 27th with very active Cleveland eruption as a background. Team was evacuated to "Lady Gudny", waiting for them in Skiff Cove. Visiting Nikolsky on the way back to Unalaska, they took a board some Aleutians, required ambulance support. The avia connection in that area is not available still yet because of volcano activity. The team reached the DutchHarbor (Unalaska) on 28th. All the expeditioners: Yuri UA9OBA, Sergey RA3NAN and Yuri N3QQ are in a good mood and feel well.

Talked with Yuri N3QQ tonight from Anchorage. He is doing well. UA9OBA and RA3NAN are still in Dutch Harbor, heading for the Alaska Convention on the weekend. My Congrats to the Team for a spectacular adventure and giving NA-234 out for the first time!

Экспедиция KL7DX завершила свою работу в эфире с острова Чугинадак (NA-234) участием в IOTA Contest. Извержение вулкана Кливленд периодические продолжалось, вулканический пепел падал на нас до послей ночи пребывания на острове. Базовый лагерь был свергут 27 июля под непрекращающийся грохот вулкана Кливленд, а участники эвакуированы с острова на борт судна “Lady Gudny”, ожидавшего нас все это время в бухте Skiff Cove. Пко пути в Датч Харбор мы зашли в Никольский и вывезли оттуда нескольких алеутов, включая требующих медицинской помощи – полеты местных авиалиний там и не возобновились. Экспедиция благополучно прибыла в Dutch Hurbor 28 июля, все участники живы и здоровы.
